My new favorite artistic things

My AMAZING cousin made me this as a birthday present and if you can believe it she made it in about 2 hours!!! She is incredible at doing crafty things(if you didn't already know she has a blog where she makes cards Baby Jane Cards and Crafts.) Need less to say I love the gift and I proudly have it on display now in our living room.

My budding artist

Isaiah took this self portrait tonight as you can see he is VERY artistic....it touches on so many levels. I believe I would have to call this groundbreaking.

The Hair Flower pins

My friend Dominique's mom makes these amazing flower clips and Dominique always comes in with new cute clips that her mom makes, they are selling like hotcakes at work and her mom keeps coming out with even better ones...if you think this one is cute you should see what she has now!

One 10k out of the way

So yesterday I did a 10k race in West Jordan for a family who has 3 kids with a rare brain cancer. One of those kids died from an infection so some of the runners had a picture of her pinned to their shirts. I'm not gonna lie it wa really depressing looking at it but I think it helped me finish faster. I think my time was 58:38 which I was really happy with because I wanted to finish in under an hour. Darrin did the 5K and almost won a medal for being in the top 3 ...I think he was 5th. i have no idea what place i came in but I really didn't care i wasn't intending on winning anything I just wanted to get through it without having my knee hurt which luckily it didn't. All in all good day.

Tired today

Worked at 6 got about 3 hours of sleep and Isaiah has a virus that thankfully isn't too serious. He had to get his throat swabbed for strep which wasn't fun because he threw up everywhere after. Darrin is taking a much needed nap and I'm about to see some friends sans children! Thank goodness for breaks. I can hear my swamp cooler going and I shudder to think what next month's energy bill will be.

Sepia is my new fave

We went for a hike at Brighton on Sunday because it was so nice and had a great time enjoying the cooler air and sights. I was trying my artistic side by using sepia and I must say that I am quite good ...he he just kidding I think sepia just makes it look better sometimes.

7 Years and counting...

Yesterday was our 7 year anniversary...that is pretty long for 2 kids like us. The whole day we thought about what we were doing around that time 7 years ago...it doesn't even seem that long ago. We didn't do anything special just went out to eat at Porcupine and then did a little shopping. Later on we got iceberg shakes...bad idea!!! We felt so sick afterwords. All in all it was a pretty good day. Love you Darrin

thanks to my friends who reminded me that my life ain't so boring. I forgot that I like to do random clubs at work...I'll give you some examples. There's the classy club where we read a book and discuss, well that actually didn't work out to well because we all couldn't find the time to get together but as we all say "You can't plan classiness." There's the salad club where myself and about 4 other gals try to all bring ingredients for a salad once a week to try to stay healthy and not pay the communist prices in the food court. I have a regular book club where we choose a different author every month. We finished Jodi Picoult...awesome writer but the lady wrote some depressing stuff. There's pigtail Mondays...well that actually just started last week and come to think of it we didn't do it today..oops..maybe that one doesn't count anymore...anyways just a brief glance at the weirdness that is moi!

I'm Boring

I do envy those people that always have something to write about whilst my mind is BLANK...Help I think aliens abducted my brain! I'll try harder to be the blogger that you all deserve!
